Travel and guardian rules
- Students aged 12–16 must travel and stay with a parent or legal guardian.
- A 17-year-old may be accepted to travel independently only with a host family arranged through IH Malta, parental consent and school approval.
- For an underage student staying with a host family, a parent or legal guardian must sign the parental consent form and provide a 24-hour emergency contact number.
- Students aged 16–17 may join a suitable adult class depending on level, maturity and class availability.

Course-only programme
Families travelling with students aged 12–16 arrange their own accommodation. The limited host-family exception applies only to eligible 17-year-olds. Activities are not promoted as part of the programme at this stage.
